In the summer of 2020 we were all locked away in our own homes thanks to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In the Pennsylvania area of Exeter, local residents started to discuss the possibility of reopening the local shop at 1 Sylvania Drive. The shop had been closed for a long time.
After many online meetings and discussions, Sylvania Community Stores Ltd was created in March 2021 as a FCA-registered community benefit society owned by its shareholder members and run by a small management committee assisted by other volunteers.
The stores opened on 24 July 2021 and now provides an exciting community stores and café that provides huge benefits to the local community.
A Post Office service is available in the stores every Thursday afternoon from 2:15 – 4:15pm.
